About the Artist: Jo Mata is a contemporary Caribbean artist born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In her paintings, the artist addresses issues of social, philosophical and spiritual matters. Coming from the classical landscaping, the artist nowadays assumes the responsibility of the speech that every artist has. Jo Mata involves in her artworks different techniques such as drawing, oil, encaustic, engraving, ink, paint spray, etc. As preferred supports glass, metal and fabric.
